MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him enter mainstream Latin music. His 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu was the winner of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Best Song in 2017. The album he released as his debut ADN was released by La Industria Inc., located in Medellin, a Sony distribution firm. The album reached the number 8 spot at the top of the Top Latin Albums chart. The following year he joined Ozuna for his Top Five smash Vaina Loca. In 2020, he collaborated with Noriel for Mala Influencia and debuted the album Dopamina within the year following. He also sang in a duet with TINI's stream hit track Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo was born into a musical family, his younger brother and his mother are both musicians. In interviews, he has stated that music is a must. As a child, he was instructed to play the piano, saxophone and guitar. His original plan of action was to be a veterinarian, but his brother Julian convinced him to study how to sing under a Cuban instructor. What he got was realizing that he had an aptitude for singing, changed the trajectory of his life.
